Terms of Service
Last updated: May 29, 2026
The short version. Bennett is a household assistant for everyday organizing — calendars, reminders, to-dos, and helpful conversation. It's not a medical device and not a substitute for professional care or human supervision. Use it for what it's good at, treat other people's data with respect, and we'll do our part to keep it running and keep your information safe.
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Bennett iOS application, the trybennett.com website, and related services (together, "Bennett"). By creating an account or using Bennett, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Bennett.
2. Who can use Bennett
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Bennett is designed to be set up by an adult (often an adult child) on behalf of a household, including older family members. By setting up a household, you confirm you have the authority and consent of the people who will use the device.
3. Your account
We use a one-time email login code instead of passwords. You're responsible for keeping access to your email secure and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us at hello@trybennett.com if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
4. Acceptable use
Please use Bennett lawfully and respectfully. You agree not to:
- Use Bennett to break the law, harm others, or violate someone's rights or privacy.
- Add another person's data to a household without their knowledge or consent.
- Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, overload, or gain unauthorized access to Bennett or its infrastructure.
- Resell or commercially redistribute Bennett without our written permission.
5. Connected services
Bennett can connect to third-party services you choose, such as Google Calendar. Your use of those services is also governed by their own terms. When you connect Google Calendar, Bennett creates and uses only a dedicated "Bennett (Household)" calendar; you can disconnect at any time from Settings. How we handle data from connected services is described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Subscriptions and billing
Some Bennett features may require a paid subscription. If and when paid plans apply to you, pricing, billing cycle, and cancellation terms will be presented at the point of purchase. Payments made through the Apple App Store are also subject to Apple's terms, and refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple.
7. Not medical or emergency care
Bennett is a general wellness and household-assistance product. It is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition, and it is not a monitoring or emergency-response service. Do not rely on Bennett for urgent or safety-critical needs. In an emergency, call your local emergency number. For health concerns, consult a qualified clinician.
8. Availability
We work to keep Bennett reliable, but we don't guarantee it will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free. We may update, change, or discontinue features, and we may perform maintenance that temporarily affects the service.
9. Disclaimers
Bennett is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don't warrant that Bennett will meet every need or that its output will always be accurate or complete.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bennett and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of Bennett. Our total liability for any claim relating to Bennett will not exceed the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim.
11. Termination
You can stop using Bennett and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if these Terms are violated or if needed to protect Bennett or its users. When an account or household is deleted, we handle the associated data as described in our Privacy Policy.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as Bennett evolves. When we make a material change, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, if you have an account, let you know by email before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Bennett after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
